Welcome to Rosie Hopkins’ Sweetshop of Dreams – Jenny Colgan

Without doubt, this is the sweetest book I’ve read this year. If you can get through it without shedding a tear or reaching for a giant bag of dolly mixtures/rosy apples/flumps/chocolate buttons then I would suggest you see a doctor urgently as you are no longer a HUMAN BEING with a BEATING HEART.
As a massive fan of traditional sweet shops who is feeling a bit fed-up at the moment, Colgan has cheered me up good and proper. Huge thanks for allowing me to read this via Netgalley.
The flashbacks to wartime were beautifully woven into the modern day tale and I completely fell in love with the simplicity of village life.
The recipes were a nice little bonus too, I will definitely be trying out a few.
Now I just need to perfect my fudge and find a lovely little village somewhere that will have me….*fires up Rightmove*
